| The first day of classes weren't bad. I like my English lit and philosophy teachers. But have yet to determine what to make of my Anthropology teacher. And I'll meet my Photo teacher tomorrow. My dad and I went to get books today, I have a three volume set for english lit along with "The Picture of Dorian Grey" by Oscar Wilde, a photo book, an anthropology book, which I have yet to get, and an english 102 book. My philosophy book I will borrow from John-Michael, in return he'll borrow my math 142 book.
I also bought a car tonight, a 96 Honda Civic with 83,000 miles for 4500$, not too bad, but it has some routine maintenance that needs to be done.

| To continue a bit from tonight at AG....What does this come across as: Matthew 9:17 "Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." -NIV This is a good portion of Jesus' response to John's disciples on why His disciples don't partake in fasting. I can understand when He talks about not mouring over the bridegroom when he is still with them. The bridegroom being Jesus. But what is this whole wineskin biz? It doesn't seem to make the same connection as the bridegroom. | | |
| I might have posted this before, but just incase I didn't....Here it is: Sugar on the Pear Oh contraire, Don’t put sugar on the pear! The taste is sweet and bountiful Just like the sent of your hair Listen to me twice Just incase I forget some spice, For the flavor of words on my voice Because blandness can’t grant me attention Unless I were to say it thrice Call on the phone Every time it has a different tone No matter if you’re here or I’m alone I can’t seem to get the best reception I don’t even know why I still have a phone | | |
| I can see it comin' on the horizon Sky turning black, it's raining down Can't move my feet, cannot be shaken Not movin', I'm standing so firm I can't be moved I will stand I will stand When everything falls away I will fight this war forever or until I die I will stand I will stand When everyone falls away I will fight this war forever or until I die All these things coming against me I have the choice to fall or fight I cannot be moved You give me the strength Help me fight, help me fight I'm standing so firm I can't be moved I'm standing so firm I can't be moved I will stand I will stand When everything falls away I will fight this war forever Or until I die I will stand I will stand When everyone falls away I will fight this war forever Or until I die And I'm standing so firm On this ground you've sat before me I'll fight for this with my last breath I'll fight for this till I die I can't be moved - Haste the Day

| I might expand this later, but for now this is the extent of it... Where has the idea of a family gone? I can't tell you as much about in other countries, but here in America the idea of marriage has become a temporary thing. 50% of marriages in America end in a divorce (and the stats for the Christian marriage aren't much better, if at all). It has been said that if we continue at this pace, eventually a marriage liscence will only be valid for one to two years and after that you would need to renew them to be considered valid. Pretty much like the tags you buy for your pet, or the stickers you put on the back of your car. Divorce is not the only side of this, the most evident other cause for the lack of family in America is the rate of out of wedlock births there are in America, which as of a couple years ago had reached 1/3 of all births recorded! That means the other 2/3 are born into a family containing a full set of parents, but how many of those marriages are going to end in divorce later on? If this continues I will not be suprised to see a huge increase in the poverty level within the next 15-20 years. What can we do? | | |
